Abstract
Since Gaidner described omental cyst in 1852, it has been known as a rare disease with uncertain etiology. It would be caused by multiple mechanism. Common clinical symptoms are abdominal distension, abdominal pain, and acute abdominal symptoms
caused
by cyst torsion, rupture, and infection. Non-invasive studies using abdominal ultrasonogram, abdominal computed tomogram, and MRI are simple and useful diagnostic methods. Differential diagnosis is needed from mesenteric cyst, ovarian cyst,
pancreatic
cyst, pancreatic pseudocyst, cystic kidney disease, and retroperitonela cyst, and so on. Surgical removal is treatment of choice with favorabel result.
We reported 5 cases of omental cyst with review of literature.
